Bezalel’s Corner

What is Bezalel’s Corner?

Bezalel’s Corner is a six-month faith and business strategy intensive that focuses on developing a thoughtful and practical business plan for small business owners that are inspired by the belief that their business is important to God. Business owners will build and share their individual business plan. As a group we will refine the commercial aspects of your plan and emphasize God’s command into your decision making and execution. Developed for business owners in the underestimated parts of Nashville in a variety of industries. We look for business owners who, for whatever reason, were denied the exposure to what “Wall Street”, Bankers and consultants understand and teach. Bezalel’s Corner combines:

  • A step-by-step method for analyzing and diagnosing your current business.
  • A step-by-step method to identifying the “levers” that affect profitability.
  • A step-by-step method to define a strategy and develop the practical tactics that support your strategy.
  • A sincere focus on building a business for a higher purpose.
  • A candid discussion about the purpose of profit.

Bezalel’s Corner runs twice a year. Once in the spring and again in the fall. There are regular group meetings, individual homework, and individual coaching.

  • Weekly two-hour class sessions covering both the business learning and spiritual aspects of developing your business.
  • Weekly homework including 2-3 hours of documenting and analyzing your business as well as readings in faith work theology.
  • Final business plans are presented, and we continue into the first phases of implementation to help guarantee tangible practical value for your business.
  • Outside experts in spiritual guidance and work faith theology are visiting speakers.
  • There are two one day local retreats.  One at the beginning of the session and the other as a closing session.

HOW CAN I JOIN?

The ideal candidate is a small business owner leading an existing business in the underestimated communities of Nashville. They are established but have not had the benefit of formal business training. They have learned well on the job. They know what they are doing, but they were deprived of the opportunity of formal step-by-step training. This business owner is looking to fill the gaps.

We solicit 4-6 business owners in a wide variety of business sectors. Being a committed believer in God is important to the program success. While a specific denomination or specific faith is not a required, the readings and lectures will be based on Christian belief.

To apply go to Bezalel’s Corner on the menu bar at the top and click on the application in the dropdown.

Bezalel’s tuition for 2021 is $300 per individual, which covers fees, retreats, books, and administrative costs.

Tuition covers the following:

  • Six months of weekly class teachings
  • Two local day retreats including meals.
  • Two Reader Books

Please do not allow money to be a barrier to your participation. Grant money is available.

Along the way we supplement our business best practice with work / faith study. We read Called to Create; A Biblical Invitations to Create, Innovate and Risk by Jordan Raynor and other authors who focus on work / faith theology. You have the opportunity to learn both with and from other business leaders of faith. Ask each other the though questions about what you do day in and day out and how you see God’s command in what you do. Running a business can be messy and with the strength of the community and the learning you can create order out of the chaos of running a business.

So where did out name Bezalel’s Corner come from?

In Exodus 31:1-6 and chapters 36 to 39, Bezalel was the chief artisan of the Tabernacle and was in charge of building the Ark of the Covenant, assisted by Oholiab. Bezalel was filled with the knowledge, the skill and the Holy Spirit to create. Just as you have been filled with the knowledge, skill and Holy Spirit to create.
